Hi

I have read that leather seats aren't as good as the alcantara as you slide off them going round corners. Are they really that bad. Just that I have an option to get a sports tourer next month but might wait so i can choose the alcantara.

Cheers

I've got leather seats and haven't fallen out of them yet, even when on the track! Have driven in both types and didn't notice the difference.

The fabric seats have probably got more padding, but the comfort difference is minimal.

Who ever came up with this one must be right thin! The leather seats grip like a second skin.

I have leather seats and they are pretty good, cant imagine anything else taking the rub getting in and out and staying in the shape they have.

Cant imagine you can really go wrong with the leather option, besides its a bit painful waiting isnt it?

Andy,
get the leather ones, the easiest way to get into the car is to stand on the seat and then lower youself in. The leather will just wipe clean if you have dirty feet, alcantera doesn't (oh and it'll get stained by the rain). Have a look at my posting on the driving tips page for something I put there last night.

John.

Get leather seats they are very grippy and the Elise has no roll.Plus if you stain the Alcantara good luck in cleaning it and leather wont be rewined by rain as it takes you one and a half minutes to get the hood on.

I had a S1 with leather and now have a S2 with alcantara. If you use the Elise regularly, take my advice, save your money and buy neither, get the standard seats. The leather can stain/tear/wear and the alcantara seems to pucker up and look "wrinkled" and it can stain when wet.
