Just got myslef an S1 all as standard except for a Raceline air intake box.

Any recommended and not too pricey mods/adds that I should go for to get a bit more out of it when I'm looking for more power/handling? Low cost high gain would be best for me.

ultimate "low cost" high power gains has got to be cams.

could also try sport 160 throttle body, sports exhaust, Cat replacement pipe.

short shifter and gear linkage also does wonders for the car.

depends what you mean by "low cost" to be honest.

Fair do's and welcome to PH!

For reasonably priced unoticeable upgrades you'd be looking at a sports exhaust system, induction kit (which you have) and an Emerald ECU.

For handling - firstly it's not bad out of the box but as far as I now your only real option is Lotus Sports Suspension (or LSS as it's referred to) but that comes in at around 3k IIRC.

Best upgrade is driver training - these guys are acknowledged as the best www.1stlotus.com - I'll be paying them a visit or two next year.

Or Nitron suspension for around 1k? Much better value than the LSS - see eliseparts.
