Bonnet catch

Ok after meding my wiper mech I now can't open my bonnet! The cable seems to release the catch as the bonnet 'pops' up, but then seems stuck and no amount of tugging and wiggling (let alone playing with bonnet) will shift it. I know you can release the mech by pushing it throught the wheel arch liner but I'm not so sure that's going to help in this instance. Any bright ideas?

I take it you're talking about the front services compartment rather than the boot? If so, I don't think it can be opened through the wheel arch. My advice would be to get someone to pull the release handle for you (but warn them not to pull too hard or the handle might come off!) whilst you wiggle the bonnet side to side and attempt to lift it.

When you get in there, have a look at the release mechanism and see what's shifted to try to prevent it happening again.

Yeah I mean the service panel. I removed the catch while I was repairing the wiper mech so it's (highly!) feasible I put it back on upside down or something stupid. It seems to click and release (as in the bonnet pops up about a centimetre) but it wont release fully. Grrr!
