Elise Close Ratio Gearbox

Following my first trackday in my Elise at Croft race circuit i came away very impressed by the handling, far better than 'normal' road cars and brakes. Although I was much quicker than the majority on other cars on track round corners and under braking they proved difficult to pass due to lack of straight line accelaration. After reading many writeups on modification of the standard elise I am tempted to modify engine and transmission to 135sport level. Cos I need to do this in stages, unless the lottery number come up!!, and was thinking of fitting CR box first. I feel this will have the biggest effect on acceleration comapred to an increase in bhp but have never read report or seen figures of improvement on a standard car. Can anyone help??

You can get 135bhp with exhaust/induction/cat pipe...better off saving up and going for a kit like the Race-Speed RS150 or DVA155 from either www.race-speed.com or www.dvapower.com

A CR box is gonna cost you the best part of £1000 unless you can pick one up second hand and fit yourself to save a few quid...it wont make THAT much difference.
