Caught Speeding...
Discussion
that is outrageous (sp?)
if i have time today, ill dig up the relevant law on TWOCING/theft at uni.
if guilty id take it further. they'd probably offer you free servicing for life, rather than suffer that PR disaster.
its not right that others can disrespect our property.
like i say ill try and check, but i'd go and give them a mouthful anyway

got some basics:
theft is dishonest appropriation property belonging to another, with an intention to permanently dprive.
all elements must be proved. probably not theft, as there is no intention to PERMANENTLY deprive.
could have a look at twocing for you if you like..over the weekend?
ohh and you owe me £3billion for typing this and doing that bit of research

Anyone else's dealer been caught speeding in your car when it's been in for a service? Mine were caught doing 55 in a 40 zone (t***ers) and apparently they are the 4th best dealer in the country!
Not had that happen, but I have had a call from the dealership telling me that my car won't start, as the immobiliser isn't functioning. "No problem", I say, "start the service, and I'll drop round the other key fob later".
Turns out that they can't do this, as the car isn't at their dealership, but is actually outside a shop a few miles away, as they'd been using it to run errands. No hint of embarassment at this, no offer to send someone round to me (fifteen miles away) to get the spare fob, no explanation of why, exactly, they hadn't taken my car straight to the service centre, and left it there. Just an expectation that, although they knew that this area had problems with transmissions blocking the radio controlled alarm, I'd get my motorbike gear on, and take two hours to piss around fixing their problem.
Now that I'm stepping away from Lotus ownership again, I'll hopefully not have to deal with this in the future.

You'll be lucky. Lotus don't have a monopoly on crap dealers, and its not like there is a single dealer that is Lotus only anyway.
I doubt, though, that anyone else can be so consistently bad at customer service as Lotus, and their dealer network have been.
I was first put off by the M250 debacle (I was third on the list, paid a lot of money, learned about its demise in the press, had to fight for my deposit back), but it's pretty much continued since then. Cost IS NOT an issue for me, I'll pretty much pay what it takes IF the service is OK. I'll sometimes question exactly why a K-series demands such expertise, but I'll still pay it, but I will not put up with crappy service all the way down the line if I can help it. I'm not the only loyal afficionado that Lotus have trodden on in recent years, and I really don't think thatthey can keep doing ot for too long if they are going to survive.
