Velise? (VX + elise)

In the never ending for quest for a little more power... I can't help but wonder, putting a VX turbo motor/gearbox into an elise should just be a matter of ordering the parts from vauxhall and bolting in right? seems simpler (and cheaper) than the honda conversions...
Anyone have any knowledge on this? Using the same logic I suppose the same could be said for the soon to be released toyota engine/gearbox from lotus.

If you're after more HP and a LSD (possibly 6 speed) it seems far cheaper to get a toyota/honda drivetrain then get quaife et al to supply parts for the K series..

Anyway you'd need to change the rear subframe which is very pricey, also the rear clam wouldn't fit. Also I'm sure lots of misc parts wouldn't fit.

You be better served going to turbo technics or getting a civic engine dropped in imho. Or maybe persuading Bernard Scouse to convert your car to the Audi TT engine like he's done (he's not selling it though, and currently the gearing is woeful).
