Just drove into town at and my wiper's not working properly (it's raining!)

Basically the motors working but the drive doesn't seem to be moving the linkages.
I've looked in the service manual but it's a bit vague.

Please help as it's bloody dangerous and more importantly I look like a right t1t having to lean out the window to manually swing the wiper arm!

S1 BTW

How on earth do you reach the wiper arm from inside the cabin? Are you Mr Tickle?

Removed the motor and it turns out the splines on the drive shaft have sheared. Ok so I can get a new motor from a scrappy but I also need the wiper mechanism cam as the splines have also sheared on that. Lotus refuse to ship the mech and motor separately and want to charge me £290 for the unit! Does anyone know if the cam and mech off the Citroen is the same?
