ANY 111S DRIVERS - PLEASE RESPOND

Has anyone experienced a problem with their 111S cutting out from 4 to 2 cylinders?
I am hoping that having been stood outside for the last three weeks in the god awful weather we have had that rain got into the sparks or caused damp in the HT leads.
The car misfired a couple of time resulting in the cut out of the offending cylinders. Its gone back to London Lotus on the back of a wagon today to have the cut out reset so the car will run properly again.
Would be very keen to hear from anyone who has suffered from a similar problem. Hopefull it was the rain/damp and nothing more serious.

I don't own one, but this is worth mentioning.
A lot of 111s suffered from misfire problems - there
were one, maybe two recalls to try and cure it. Make sure your car had the misfire detection system installed - if it didn't, you're driving a potential fireball as unburnt fuel entering the catalyst can cause it to overheat and catch fire.
Get it checked - phone the factory if in doubt!

A mate of mine has a 111S that misfired badly on him a few months back. He had it trailered to Bell & Colvill and it turned out to be water getting into the spark plugs, corroding the ends and preventing proper sparking.
He had new plugs fitted and, once he got home, smeared vaseline all over the plug seals. Been OK since.
BTW, I did ask why he had a readily available supply of vaseline, but he didn't elaborate...

The problem in the end was a crack in the coil pack, London Lotus Centre, now HR Owen sports cars have only seen this particular problem once. For those 111S owners who are due to have a serive, the cars that is, not their owners, it would be worth while asking to have this checked out, especially if the car is still under warranty, mine was not.
Luckily I was not to far from home when the two cylinders cut out so did not have too far to drive back home. Just glad I was not stuck somewhere in N Wales.
