CRP ... is it worth it?

Is it worth the hassle of installing a cat replacement pipe ? What are the pros and cons ?

Whats putting me off is MOT every year, noise regulations at trackdays, and a headache on long motorway journeys.

Not to sure what the pros are ? Nicer sounding and a bit more performance. Will I notice the performance during general day to day driving ?

Doubt it. Most people do it for the noise. If you can't switch it yourself for MOTs though, it strikes me as too much of a pain in the arse. Could get a sports cat though for more money which should be ok for MOTs although likely won't last as long as a normal cat.

about to get one fitted, so i bloody well hope so.

im doing it for the noise more than anything.

luckily a £5 comes in handy when i get an MOT done. somehow it finds its way into the tester's pocket

Mostly noise...and 2-3bhp...more if your engine is heavily modified and the cat is restricting it (like 200bhp+)...nice noise though...particularly through tunnels

i have got it done:

i must say, there is a noticeable increase in power, but this is not substantial (could also be due to manifold). the noise is glorious, and the cars sounds really throaty even when idling.

if you can be bothered with putting the CAT on...a 30min job...then i would recommend it.

if it wasnt pissing it down, id be out in it now!!
