Hi all

After the announcement of the job losses at Lotus I was wondering what implications this could have on current / future owners. I mean, if the company went bust ( lets hope not ) would the cost of servicing, repairs etc rocket?

I am planning to see Mr Lotus Salesman next week to put a deposit down but are now concerned. Should I be?

Cheers

Andy

I would think that old stock would be sold off cheap and there would be an initial fall in the 2nd hand prices. After a few months though prices will rise as the Elise will become a classic car.
So my advice.......
go ahead and make the purchase and enjoy the experience

Don't let your sleep for such announcements. It is the normal way to prevent that the business go bust if sales or down. It is not just in the carbusiness that business is very slow. If you keep too long too much personal your business is eaten from inside out ! It is sad for the people who are involved but that is just how it works..............

Costs would probably go down as more work would go to independents. Parts availability would be more difficult, but only for Lotus manufactured bits. Service parts & running gear are mostly parts bin stuff so buy it, drive it but try not too crash it :-)
