I need a S1 Elise for 13.5K, who wants a SaxoVTS ?
Discussion
i think you may struggle to sell your car privately, and so MAYBE it would be better to do a part-ex, rather than a private buy and then sale.
remember if your car is on the market for 2 weeks+ then the price will take a huge dive.
test drive as many as you can to find the right model for you. when you do get one, (after test-driving you will), be careful in the wet and responsible in the dry.
as you say your car is slightly modified, and so may i make a presumption?
if your a max-head, dont drive like a twat in an elise..its a sports car that will bite you and easily bite others. also "max" related issues, opinions etc arent really tolerated here (i personally dont mind that much) but others may shoot you down.
if your not a max-head, then i apologize.

Oh, and if your private registration is S4XOD, I suggest you don't transfer it to the Elise.
The classifieds on this board and on www.seloc.org should provide you with plenty to go at and they'll tend to be more cared for examples (there's some real cr@p around). Get it inspected to check for crash damage - that's the most important thing as they don't rebuild easily or cheaply after a shunt.
To get rid of the Saxo, put it on Autotrader and free-ads type papers - the chances of getting a private part ex for it are non existent and you could pay a 2k premium if you go through a dealer.
Sorry that was an error in posting twice I have had probs with my home computer and I didn't think I had posted so when I went to post again I put it in the wrong section
Northernboy do you have any pictures you could post or e-mail to myself ? (S4XOD@hotmail.com)
Dragster I accept your apology
Bonce nope I hope to either sell it with the car and get a little extra or take it off and sell it privately, had some interest around the £500 mark
Thanks for the advice guys

S4XOD, I'll have it off you at that money..
Sod it I'll give you 20% more.. I'll give you £600. I could do with upgrading the VTR.
Matt.

Saxo guy, I had a VTR that I just part-exed for an 'X' reg Elise, and I had a nightmare getting rid of it.
The dealer and I rang around and we scraped just over six for it.
The dealer I bought the Saxo from didn't want to know because they had loads of leftover Saxo's and he said new they were now £8,500.
Basically if you can spare time then sell it privately, because otherwise you will get literally pennies for it. I know. Then again once I had a drive around Richmond park in the Elise I didn't care what the Saxo made anyway.
Enjoy the Elise, because it is one brilliant car.
