Hi guys
I haddent had the chance to drive my S2 for about 2 weeks and when I came to stat it last week it was dead so I jumped it and went for a longish spin and now havent had time to drive it again since, (about 6 days) and when I tried again this morning it was dead again. Do you think the Battery is knackered or does it just need more regular use after I get it going?

Depends how long the longish spin was. If the battery was fully drained I would have taken it out for at least 40 minutes.

I would not have thought the battery would be shad out by now. I have left mine standing for a week or so a few times when away on business and have had no problems, this is a May 2001 car.

Hopefully a few more frequent runs should get you back to normal.

ok Cheers for the help. I'll jump it tonight and take it out for a proper spin. my girlfriend is away this week and has taken the sensible car so I should have time to give it a few propper runs.

Just out of interest how much is a new Battery for an S2?

If you go to your local Quickfit/ATS they will be about £30, from Lotus, rather more I should think.

but seriously - buy a trickle charger - you can now get really cheap and advanced ones which monitor everything and stop the irritation of jumping the bastard thing. I have found that with the alarm set, 12 days is all you get before the battery wont start the car.....

Sounds like a worthy investment
12 days sounds about right. It hasnt been left for more than a couple days since I've had it up untill I had the problems which was after a couple of weeks.

Cheers for the help
