Elise Mk1 cutting out

Hi,

I have just bought a '97 Elise (2 weeks ago). Last week on a short journey the car cut out about a mile down the road leaving me stranded. The AA were unable to help. Ever since the car cuts out after a minute or two (sometimes less).

The engine sounds sweet whilst it's running, then coughs and stalls.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Same thing happens with my S2. Only got it in August so I'll be taking it back to the dealers soon to get it sorted! Mine only happens about ten seconds after the ignition is switched on, I always give it some revs so it doesn't cut out, I know thats not the answer though!

hello mate did you get this problem sorted? i've got mine booked in for next friday but i would much rather sort it myself rather than taking it there, sorting insurance out for courtesy car, etc. Any help much appreciated, cheers...james
