head is now off - gasket doesn't show much sign of failure, so it's either a porous / warped head or a cracked liner
head has obviously been skimmed before.

If I wasn't going to sell the car I'd put on my VVC head, new cams, new ECU, but as it's not a practical car for 650 motorway miles per week I'll just put a new head on.

Anyone know a good source for a second hand head?

I have just taken one of a car (to replace with a 135 head).

the guy is looking to sell it....how much do you want to pay? (I don't know what he wants for it but will ask)

It's complete as lifted, with cams/followers/tappets/seals/dist-drive pin/etc.

About £100?
Eliseparts want a bit more than this for one, but I can get the old one skimmed and impregnated for less.

Whereabouts in Leics are you?
I'm going there at the weekend....

£100?

I think he would be looking for more like £200+...

I can'y see you getting a head striped, skimmed, cleaned, re-assembled for £100...

I can - one of my technicians is working on it as we speak.... the only thing I need to outsource is impregnating the head.
Eliseparts want £200.
