Hi Everyone,

Due to my commitment to the Trophy and my wife's love of Porsche I'm going to sell our Exige S, it's a hard decision but if I want a Lotus to use in the Trophy then Mrs Boggy has said yes providing she can have a Cayman Sears

Not the best time to sell but if someone offer's the right money then it's time to say goodbye

I'll still have a Lotus, I'm not going to leave the fold just change of direction and racing is a little expensive

First time I've said it on here, but mine will be going soon too.

Need to give it a big old clean first (just come back from 3k around Europe) and get to putting an advert together. As for the reason why - that's another thread biggrin

You're doing it for a good reason though Boggy - and you'll have an absolute blast in the trophy. I got told this line last week and I think it's so apt; "it's a real high class problem to have" biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Thanks Tony,

Don't care what my family and friends think (Been told it's a waste of money)

Fact is this, I don't expect to win the series but if I ever listened to people who poured scorn on my goals then I would have achieved nothing, I've boxed for my country and also served for it, this is another one of those big goals

I really need a new direction as I go to the Gym everyday and boxing start's to hurt once you've been doing it for a while. Keeping my fitness and my weight to a reasonable level will also be beneficial to racing just can't wait to get it all started

I don't think there's a single person on this board that, time and finances willing, would not have made the same decision you're going for mate. I'm quite excited to see you doing it actually biggrin

You will need to keep us up to date with everything you realise? biggrin

I am aiming at a similar route Boggy. Just a shame time and money wont allow me to go racing as well.

Good luck with the series.

PS - unless I am massively over expectant in my pricing, market is crap at the moment for selling! Good luck to both you and Tony and hope you fair better than me on that front.

I was interested to see how you got on with yours Tony as I'm considering making the Exige move next year (unless we're all working for the Chinese by then).
I saw you'd made a comment about not being too happy with the car, on a 'grin/buck' basis and was interested to see what you had to say - is this the reason or is it something else unrelated?
Just curious as I don't really want to change my current car if the advantages will be minimal - if that makes sense?

Anyway - good luck to you Boggy - be interesting to see how you get on, an alternative route to be sure but sounds like great fun.

Cheers
A

The one and only issue we have with our Exige is that it's a track car plain and simple, I really do enjoy driving it and living with it day to day is relatively cheap compared to some other cars.

In my view unless you’re going to use it on the track you’re wasting your money buying an Exige. I can't afford to throw 30k into a tyre wall in the trophy which is why I'm selling it buying a cheaper S1 or S2 to use

We will then get a Cayman S to use for weekend, shopping etc, also the Porka is a little easier on the motorway for when were driving long distancedriving

That sums it up pretty well yes

I was discussing it with RobM_77 just yesterday, I'll put a post up this afternoon if I get a chance but you've pretty much hit the nail on the head. Awesome car, but as much fun on the road as my half-the-price Elise was.

"I'm only going to have an S1 and Cayman S". Not a reason to cry, is it ?

I'm afraid it's to much money to chuck into a wall, early S2 or S1 for around 8k makes much moe sense

That's exactly why I went from an Exige S to an S1 111S. Never looked back.

Boggy, have you checked with Paul Golding that there will be grid space in the series next year. A Class is already oversubscribed for many of the races this year and there are quite a few other people not currently involved in the series who are preparing cars at the moment.

It would be a shame to start getting rid of your current car, race prepping another and not getting on the grid.
