Guys, got an exhaust rattle which is coming from inside the cat, so need a replacement. Anyone recommend any cheaper alternatives to a standard Lotus one, which is silly money.

I need the engine error display light to function correctly though, so I'd prefer for this light not to be permanently on.

Any pointers?

Edited: Or if anyones done an exhaust upgrade and got their original cat sitting around, PM me (02 k series s2)

Thanks in advance.

Just got an S1 cat from there for less than £80 delivered. You're actually welcome to take it off my hands but I'm pretty sure the S1 and S2 cats differ.

Gad-westy, is that unbranded, or does it not make a bit of difference.

When I needed one for my S2 I went to my local exhaust fabricator who made one up for me. Can't remember now what they charged but it wasn't much. They fitted it too.

Cats aren't particularly complex devices - I'm sure you'd be able to find someone locally who could make one for you.

Don't remember seeing a brand on it. Passed its MOT ok last week though. Its coming off again as soon as I get hold of a proper SS decat.

I bought mine from there. The car was de-catted when I bought it so I needed one to get it through it's MOT - it pissed it through!

if you are going to get one made up at a local exhaust place, you may as well get a "sports" cat cell to do it with - £99+vat, a bit of pipe and flange each end, sensor hole...weld it up...then sell it for £300 wink

Thanks as always for the pointes guys, appreciated.

I do have one further question, anyone know if the S2 cat is the same on k series versus toyota engined cars. I'm finding a few around but they're from 111s/111r models.

Thanks in advance.
