The standard number plate lasted 2mins in the snow before being pulled off. I'm now tempted to get one made that just large enough to cover the mounting plate although I've heard this is illegal. Has anyone else fitted one and have you had any problems from the law?

I thought that all Elises came with tiny number plates as standard I've had a small front plate on my Cerbera for the last 2 years, and I've never had any trouble, despite being pulled over by Mr. Plod on various occasions. James

It is actually illegal...but I cant believe you'd ever get done for it. The police dont seem to be making a massive erffort to stop anyone with a misspaced plate, which is definitely more of a crime! As its for a sensible reason, I'm sure you'll be fine... Night p.s. The opinions above are my own..blah blah blah...no liability...blah blah blah

I got pulled for speeding last year and was subsequantly told to get my small number plate on my elise changed asap. Now I have an exige and a different number I might well try having a small plate again and see how long I can get away with it.

I've got my new plate made just large enough to fit onto the support panel - 18" x 3.5". It uses standard lettering so I hope I'm ok with the law. The good bit is it dosen't block the rad or hang down where its easily knocked off.
