Hi, I've just bought a 1998 S1 Elise. I have the hard top fitted, but there is a 2-3mm gap between the top of window and roof. Is there a way of adjusting the window glass up so that it seals against the roof seal as it should. Or is this abit of early Lotus Elise build quality?

Cheers.

You can take the door card off and adjust it.

Most don't bother, but buy a shower-cape for the car instead.

It tells you how to adjust them in the service manual. PM me and I'll send it you as a pdf document.

Any pics? smile I know it's a long shot, but not many 98 S1s had hard tops and a good friend of mine had one from almost new that he loved and cherished. I've love to know where it is now smile

Dont have any pics at the moment I'm afraid. It's Azure blue with black wheels.

Where is the gap? If it's at the very front, top corner of the window, then that's 'normal' to some extent with the soft top. With a hardtop you should be able to get a perfect seal.

What's normally the case is that the hard and soft tops fit slightly different, so it can only be adjusted for one at a time.

agree with Rob...when the hardtop is fitted it's fine, however the soft top leave a small gap at the leading edge...a right PITA. Can't be bothered to keep adjusting it.
