Hello
Any suggestions on this. Dont want to spend a fortune but aside from a great induction noise engine does sound a bit sewing machine at the moment.
Anyone got a second hand sports back box or any pointers in the right direction most appreciated.
Cheers

Hi Spellman

Click on my name on the left of this post, and in the profile you will see a videos tab. Click that, and you can see I made some comparison videos of my standard S2 111S vs with a larini exhaust vs with a larini exhaust and decat.

Larini is, in my mind, the most perfect exhaust for an S2 111S - without question.

So much so, I got one for my Exige too yes

It was all Tony's fault I put a Larini on mine! Club Sport with cat. Makes a massive difference, now sounds fab!!

The whole point of the 111S is to be quiet! smile That's one of the reasons why it cost more to start with.

The intake has special sound deadening on it that isn't found on other Elises and the exhausts have a bypass valve between them that only opens both if you have the throttle down by a certain amount or exceed a certain rpm. I think there's even extra sound deadening to prevent you hearing the engine too much.

That said, the k series with a sports exhaust on can sound absolutely fantastic biggrin It just rather defeats the object of the 111S smile

The sports exhaust on my 111S drives me mad - if I ever have to replace it it'll be with the quietest unit I can find. Want to swap? wink

There's a Janspeed one on mine. It's fantastic. They're too quiet otherwise.

Cool. That would be very useful. smile

ETA: Are the standard ones mild steel?

Thanks for all the info. Did 300 miles on the motorway yesterday (including being hit by a tidle wave as I overtook a lorry in standing water!) Can see the benefits of standard exhaust as the cabin is easy to live in on a run. However have always had loud cars from Beach Buggys to a Noble, so kind of miss the exhaust note - will seek one out. All the best.

I may well do. Spellman lives quite near me so we are going to meet up to compare exhausts. We might just swap. smile

Fitted a Larini Club Sport on my S2 couple of months back. You won't believe the difference it makes. She now sounds as she should. Superbthumbup
I may be talking utter tosh here, but I believe the engine in the 111S requires a certain amount of back pressure, so be careful what you fit as you may lose a few BHProlleyes

yep - it does, should be fine exhaust wise though, probs when losing the cat though - stick to a sports cat frown

Surely even a sports car reduces back pressure when compared to a standard one? I thought that was the entire point.
