Just bought a lovey looked after Lotus Elise S1 smile
Great fun so far.
One thing I've noticed is that the throttle pedal is very hard/stiff to press. Clutch and brakes are fine and like any other car. Is this normal or does something need lubing?

I used to have an S2. Now have an S1, and I don't regret the swap.

You could benefit from the eliseparts throttle linkage. I drove a few before getting mine and mine has this part. It did feel better than the others. Have a look on their website and see if it matches yours. Lubrication cant hurt biggrin

Enjoy!

Its a Sliver 2000 with S2 suspension and upgraded discs. Had its steering rack refurnished and lots of bearings and things replaced over the last few years.
Time to look on eliseparts then me thinks wink

Congrats on the purchase mate. You'll not regret it.

Regarding your throttle. Normally the pedal goes very loose rather than tight. I'm just wonderring if your's might be very tight at the engine end. Maybe worth giving it a good oiling whilst opening and closing the throttle by hand.

The Elise Parts linkage is probably worth doing anyway, and while you're there get the gear linkage kit as well because it transforms the car, literally.

Congrats on your new toy yesdriving

Probably worth getting your throttle linkage looked at ... the pedal on my S1 was a bit stiff but I thought nothing of it until the cable came away from the pedal as I was driving along the M25 - cue RAC recovery frownfrownfrownfrownfrown
