Front treaders
Discussion
I have a need for new front tyres. Backs are good nick p-zeros. I don't race - (not that good) - but want some good stickiness. Can't be ars*d to get to a Lotus dealership for more Pzeros ('cos apparently Pirelli only supply the correct size through the Lotus chain).
Any ideas?
Thoughts particularly please on P6000, Yoko A539 or Yoko A043 -'cos these are all in stock with my local!

You could get a part worn set of P-zeros from Eliseparts (I think they have them) and wait until the whole set need changing and go for Yoko Advan Neovas which seem to be 'the best by test' judging from opions expressed on here anyway.
Consensus seems to be that it's best not to mix brands/types on the car as it can upset the handling (I await being shot down on that ) so part worns would bridge the gap.
Cheers.

Thanks Chris,
Unfortunately, I never get anywhere near Hastings. Probably should visit!
Appreciate the thought.
And Cuzza, your advice is sound - so I have put even less sticky tyres on the front than the back!! As a cheap way forward I have just popped out and put another P6000 on the other front. At least they are now matched and I won't get nicked for having a baldy.
Cheers all

Can't say I blame you on that one!
Forgot but I also have a P6000 which was taken off the left rear at the same time. It was a mismatch with the P-Zero on the other side due to a puncture. I had a near bald P-Zero on the left and the P6000 with a good 9mm on the other. It led to a very balletic attempt at getting round a wet roundabout - you wouldn't believe how slow we were going as well (there was a transit on our outside to give you a clue!), and that's when we knew it was time to sort it out.
If you ever venture near Hastings and fancy any of the above let me know,
Chris
Pirelli no longer manufacture the Pzreo's in the correct size for the front of the Elise.
Actually... The whole 'old' Pzero range is being phased out and replaced by the Pzero-Rosso and Pzero-Nero series.
For the S1 the best you can just about get are the Yoko Advan Neova 'LTS' tyres.
A more 'budget' solution is a set of Toyo Proxes T1-S.
Bye, Arno.
