Summer Madness!!!!

Due to this summers "better than average" weather I was just wondering???? Has anyone made or thought of making some form of "quick release" adaptor plate for the door to hinge mounting, thus allowing us to enjoy the BMW Z1 levels of fresh air motoring. I just thought it would be kind of different visually to have no doors and would add to the sensation of speed in a psuedo biking, caterham, ariel atom way for a very modest cost.
Has anyone removed the doors anyway, is the re-alignment an issue, requiring shims etc. or are they a fairly accurate fit?

Interesting thought, I might have a go at photoshopping a photo to show what it would look like - pretty odd probably!

And don't forget there is side impact protection in them there doors...
