Sunday 3rd August ? <---- thanks to miniD for pointing out my date error

I have an obscure breakfast venue in mind close to Bournemouth airport, but trust me if you like bacon butties it is the Dogs Bolocs.

Anyway...I'm going to reccie the run sometime this week and confirm route later this week.

Anyway... for those that like the early Sunday thing, think "a bit of a jolly old thrash around the forest, straights, bends, twistys and then back in time for tea and brekkie"

Ahem...Sunday the 3rd perhaps??

May not be able to make it as we have a wedding on the saturday and may be staying over in Bristol.

That has however just made me really hungry reading the words 'bacon butty' lick

I have undertaken a test run of said route and there are some very nice roads.. obviously because of the forest it won't be a high speed affair but I think there is plenty of opportunity for "spirited" driving if you look out for ponies ! So thanks to Janitor I think for the pointers re: Emery Down etc.

(also checked breakfast venue opens @ 0930)

BTW, sorry if I broke rules and used the BoLOCs franchise for my jaunt frown but I'm not sure I can edit the thread title now.

As ever, the elder stateman is correct. The primary goal of the BoLOCs is to organise runs, with no rules involved. Just a bunch of guys/gals, getting together and going for a blat

Nice roads between me and the airport?

I could fall out of bed and be at the airport....

Now the other side of the airport cloud9

There is an on ramp to the Ringwood bypass from Matchams lane (Towards Ferndown). It loops round 270 degrees and is covered in some special "anti slip" tarmac. It is incredible, talk about "does wahat it says on the label". I cant loose traction no matter how fast I attack it. It is getting sill now but wow, is that smile inducing.

I don't understand your comment confused .... have you missed the 1 hour loop around the forest ? It's Bournemouth to Hurn "the long way round"

What you think because your car is appearing in some glossy mag, you'll get enough selling it as a celeb wagon to get an Eva Longoria (Evora for short)wink

No, Scotland to see the brother in law. Will get some great mountain biking in (Glentress and Innerleithen) so looking forward to it.

Ok... slightly revised route at the start for those that may want to join the Capt. Grinnders magical mystery tour. It is not barn stormin' high speed but very attractive and some great little twisty roads.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&saddr=bh14+8...

Approximately
0815 Shore Road (Poole Harbour between Evening Hill & Haven Road.. where the Burger run usually pauses in the other direction)
0820 Branksome beach
0830 Westover Road (brief pause if required)
0840 Iford Bridge
0845 Christchurch bypass
Off into the forest minding the ponies and
sometime around 0930-0945 A mystery location (near Hurn airport) for potentially the best bacon buttie you have ever tasted.

It is not a numbers dependent thing..... I'm going for breakfast the long way (and it looks like it might be nice weather too) following this route and you are welcome to follow (or lead).

It's through the forest, so there may be some trafic, and there may be some ponies but if it becomes more of a cruise, so be it.

The times are approx. and I'll check here Saturday night for any interest. If it looks like I'm going solo, I'll still swing past the spots located above but I won't be anticipating a stop.

Hope some can join me.

Cheers
Capt.Grinnders
