Whats the best (sounding) exhaust system for a supercharged exige, was listening to a black one at croft the other week, think it was a larni?? Had a standard lotus stage 1 exhaust on the sports racer and wasn't that impressed with it, thought it was a bit of a barker and only sounded good due to the induction kit...

Was speaking to Tony at HHC and he was saying there are special ones developed for supercharged engines???

I don't want a induction kit this time as i use this car daily and I don't think my ears can take it anymore on long journeys..

Cheers for any comments...

Andy - if you want to compare exige S exhaust notes then pop along to a monthly north east meet; there are examples of Lotus stage II, 2bular and larini.

Click on the website link in my profile _ meets are normally last Sunday of the month.

Hi Andrew!

I have a Larini exhaust (the one designed for the S) on mine, as well as a Larini sports cat and manifold.

This thread has videos to give an idea of the sound;

I forgot to look in your profile - where abouts in the country are you? Happy to take you out in the car if you'd like to hear it if feasible.

I do like the exhaust; I used to have a stage II Lotus and that was way too boomy on the motorway with not much character. The Larini, now nicely settled in, is absolutely great on the motorway but has real character when you open it up and use high revs - just what I was after!

any idea what db's it kicks out? My 240r is boomy but bland - dunno what type it is, 2 small pipes. Drove a 240 Cup recently with the single oval ti[p was moch rortier, whizz pop bang on overruns.

We measured it using a decibel meature as properly as we could (45degrees away, 3/4 revs etc. etc) and mine was 101.5dBA.

The important bit though is that overal volume I think is similar to a stage 2, HOWEVER, it's not "boomy" so doesn't give you a headache.

No probs! Yup it does put you into the loud category for track days so, to be safe, I'm only looking for 105dB days - which restricts choices a lot.

Best note I have heard on an Exige S, was on Joe-Exige-S car. Was a 2bular of some sort, stupidly loud, loads of over run, however did sound awesome.
Only possible down side for most, was it would have been way over the limit for just about every track in existence. Other 2bular's I have heard sound good, but none have been on the S.
