here goes:

1) i've plumped for a new headunit, but cant see how you get the bleeding sony unit out. (i cant see where those little keys go to pull it out, or do i have to remove the dash?)

2) i quite fancy getting a de-cat pipe. anybody had any "brushes" with the law? and with what consequences?
anybody regret their "pipe?"

3) im no expert driver (i do plan to take lessons soon) but is my car trying to kill me?

lost the back end twice going round a MILD bend in 3rd (it was wet though). therefore i've resorted to driving like a granny. loved the feeling of "powersliding" round the turn but i think i'll save that for future track days

whoever said advans are "goodfun" in the wet needs their head examining!

cheers in advance for any help!

First thing to do would be to get a good geo check on the car.

If this is out enough then it can get quite un-predictable in the wet. Usually it's good practice to have the geo looked at one or twice a year. Hitting a few potholes can throw it off.

Of course.. A gentle right foot in the wet is always a good idea in an Elise (light weight, RWD, mid-engine and all that...)

Bye, Arno.

Sony key normally fits in a very small slot (1mm x 5mm or so) in two places near the bezel. The holes are normally subtle.

Also you do have a sony key and not the big 4 pin jobbies from old stereos?

Could it be that you are used to driving a big slow Yamaha? Or did you pick that handle for another reason!

Not taking the p*ss - I am thinking of slowing down my biking bit (have a ZZR1100D5 at present) by buying a BT1100 Bulldog, which has a Dragstar engine.

I hope I guessed right. If not I apologise for putting boring 2 wheel stuff on the Elise site. Mine's a red S1 by the way.
