NEW ELISE NOW AT SHOWROOMS

Just to let you all know that the long awaited New Elise has just started to arrive at the dealers. Dealers who received their first demo cars on Friday 22/12/00 are Nelmes of Romford (01708 381655), HR owen at Kensington, London Lotus Centre (St Albans), Bell & Colvil and Peter Smith. Other dealers will receive theirs in January. I've seen it - looks Absolutely Fabulous!

Got to drive HR Owen's demo car car this week - quite impressed, didn't like the colour much though, it was metallic grey and seemed a bit dull to me. The whole car seems a bit more comfortable than the last model and the engine does seem a lot smother and the gearbox is great. A worrying piece of news is that the salesman told me that they have been called to visit Lotus later this week to discuss an announcement re. the new Elise - his thoughts were that there are likely to be further delays before customer cars are delivered to ensure quality control is spot on...... My February delivery has now been pushed back to May at the earliest.....
