Hi all

Wonder if you can give me a little help. Just got my lovely elise back from her service, nothing has ever gone wrong with her before, had her back for a few days, and problems have started! Just had to leave her in some kind persons driveway and walk several miles home. The problem is you touch the throttle & it just keeps reving....this was temporarily cleared by a quick 'blip' on the throttle, then it just decided to rev all the way up to 7 grand and not come back down.

I shut her down before she decided to kill herself of over-exuberance, but every time I re-start her the same thing happens (but even before I touch the throttle now!).

Oh, I also have no speedo, the odometer has packed in, and 2 screws have been left out the passenger door! hmmm clearly great care taken with the service of my littl baby. Needless to say I'm very peed off, but living on Guernsey I don't have much choice as to where I get me car serviced!

Right I'm off to burn down the Garage...........

S1? could the the sticky throttle problem. Get hold of a std S2 alloy 48mm throttle body or a Trohpy 160 throttle body (52mm) and that should cure it - try www.elise-parts.com, www.race-speed.com www.elise-shop.nl

sorry cant help with the other prob - try taking it back to the dealer

www.elise-faq.info/content/engine/index.php

Check the throttle body section on there, does sound like it is sticking as bogie said. Its not the cable but the actual throttle body that is sticking as the plastic warps with heat.

The other problem with your speedo *could* possibly be the wheel sensor becoming disconnected, this would stop it reporting the speed back to the stack.
