'New' Sport 135 upgrade not available for Elise 1

I've been told by Bell & Colvill that the new sport 135 upgrade for the Elise 2 is not available at the same price for the Elise 1. The new conversion is £1750 inc VAT and fitting (or £995 on a new Elise 2 ordered before 7th Feb).
The Elise 1 sport 135 upgrade is still available but at £2600 plus VAT and fitting. Or £2900 plus VAT and fitting for the Elise 1 sport 160 upgrade. Retro fitting at dealers/Hethel explains part of the cost difference between retro Elise 1 sport 135 and new Elise 2 sport 135 ordered when new.
evo magazine regard the Elise sport 135 as the 'sweetest and best balanced of the bunch', but I guess that was before the new upgrade offers from Powertrain Projects and Turbo Technics.
PTP offer their PTP140 cylinder head upgrade for £1498 ex VAT and the PTP165 cylinder head upgrade for £2499 ex VAT (both require fitting). Interestingly the PTP140 is the genuine Elise sport 135 kit (according to PTP website), but the prices from a Lotus dealer and from PTP seem to vary considerably.
Turbo Technics offer their ingenious supercharger systems from £5750 plus VAT but inc fitting.
Does anyone have any other ideas for Elise 1 power upgrades. I guess we could start fiddling with air intakes or air inlet manifolds (both available from PTP) or ECU re-mappings, or exhausts (but in my opinion new exhausts improve aucoustics more than performance). I'm particularly keen to hear about people's experiences.
I'm about to book Lotus Driving Training Skills 1 at Hethel as a precautionary first step in getting more from my car at track days, but when that is done the the little Elise chasis is too too capable to leave alone.

Indeed the PTP140 is the same as the S135 from Lotus.
When taking in to account the praise the S135 has had heaped on it, you must remember it was well spec'd other than the engine upgrade. One of the key differences is that it has a close ratio gearbox. This when combined with the free reving engine makes the car lovely to drive.

I've been chatting to the guys at Lakeside Engineering near Woking about their performance upgrades. They provide upgrades based on components from Raceline who offer 145, 150, and 160 upgrade options as well as a series of components to get the best from the 111s more complex VVC engine.
The upgrades include: camshaft, gasket, air filter, ECU, exhaust, cylinder head and valves. Each upgrade can be purchased separately en-route to 160bhp.
In comparison to PTP, Lakeside mentioned that to get real 160bhp performance from PTP upgrades several other PTP and Lotus components should also be purchased (e.g. quick gearbox), but they suggested that true 160bhp is on offer with the upgrade path available from Raceline. (Bear in mind that Lakeside are a Raceline agent, and not currently a PTP agent).

Not true on the PTP kit
Owen Geddes has this kit and has proved the declared 165bhp at Emerald rolling road. I now have their kit too, its down to sprinting power I wanted and the toque that is created is fantastic for the track. Yes the Close ratio gearbox is next as this will help improve the sprinting performance Im interested in, Whenb do you really use the full power on a circuit, 1 place the straight.
No all down the bhp is it?

www.race-speed.com will do the PTP kit significantly cheaper the Dave Minter - please e-mail me for prices. The PTP kit does give 165bhp. Mine gave 163 but had a blowing downpipe at the time - so I was happy with that.
One thing you should remember is that the 165 kit has a big valva head (ie VHPD) - so if you want more power in the future no need to junk the head. ALL the other kits use a standard head and mean you will have to junk the head to get more power.
