i finally decided to wash the car and got to work. i then decided to clean the tail pipes to get the soot off my lovely exhaust. it took ages however resulted in me (somehow) sticking the hose pipe (and some car wash foam) down the pipe...it didnt come back down as i hoped. now the car splutters upon ignition and idles to high. it splutters in 2nd for about 4 mins and then is fine. what should i do?

im thinkin that i will sort it self out, but until then im left with a curious turtle wax smell when i accelerate hard!!

I would have thought that an extended drive would sort that out. But I suppose if you put a LOT of water down the pipe, it might've got somewhere it shouldn't.

For future reference, no water is necessary for making the exhausts shiny like new, just a couple of bits of kitchen towel or rag and a splodge of Auto-Glym metal polish. Works a treat!

Park on a steep road with the tail-pipe end of the silencer pointing down and then give it some revs?

Souns more like you got water in the dizzy cap or pooling in the sparkplug holes causing it to misfire/stumble.

Bye, Arno.
