I'm looking to upggrade the head unit in my S2, as the sound/recieption is not too good. Has anybody got a good suggestion of what brand/model and should I upgrade speakers as well????

I've previously looked closely at various mp3 head units as it's a good way of getting up to 10 hours of music on a disk without the need for a changer. I believe that Alpine make very good head units, although I prefer the look of sony ones.

Some elises are fitted with Alpine speakers as standard - it's difficult to improve these without spending serious cash. If you don't have these (I think Alpine ones are white, others are black) - if you have the black ones, there is a good choice of direct replacements which will dramatically increase sound quality.

Is it an S1 or an S2 if its an S1 I've got the Bass Tube that I took out of my car because it took so much space up.

If you can wire it you can have it for a few beers!

I need the space behind the seats for the roof not this bloody thing! I'll get the dimensions etc for you - you might find the seloc reccomended ones are smaller.

I bought cheapish JVC head unit with a line in & use my apple iPod mp3 player (I have a Mac, but they do a windows version too if you're on a PC).

I currently have 1856 tunes on my 10gb iPod (they also do a 20gb!) - so you can pretty much take your whole music collection with you...and take the expensive bit away with you when you leave the car.

sorry guys but yet another audio question...

i like the tweeter pods/tweeters at eliseparts but am unsure of the "dash" that they are flushed into. i have a carbon fibre effect dash and so dont want to replace this with the grey dash. does anybody have these? what are they like?

or does anybody have any suggestions if the only way to have them is with the nasty grey dash?

cheers
