Can anyone tell me what is involved in upgrading the Exige engine to 192bhp? Is the difference noticeable and is driveability improved or degraded?

Any clues appreciated.

Huge difference imo. The car was anemic without it...

Wonder how this compares to getting DVA or someone to make the car 192. Never heard terribly complimentary things about the original 190 lotus engines.

Here much better things about the newest ones in S2s, but the only one I know of grenaded a few weeks into ownership.

yep - better off going to DVA and getting and emerald and verniers fitted...then mapped by Dave Walker at the Emerald RR

tried checking out www.exiges.com?

www.dvapower.com for the 190 drivability upgrade kit IIRC

Would also like to point out it is not 192 bhp. It is 190ps which is somewhere in the 180s. Even then lotus claims for the power are often considered optimistic for these types of engines by just about everyone. The dissenters tend to be the people who paid for an upgrade

Sorry to disappoint DH but my Lotus upgrade is indeed 190bhp - Noble rolling road proved, at same time 111s and std Lizzies gave out what was expected so pretty confident of their tackle..

Am goin to have verniers fitted tho' as I understand can get additional 5-10bhp, but most of all better torque figures - which as we all know is K's achilles heel..

/shrug You pretty much walked into my trap anyway lol

Torque on the lotus 190bhp is poor too, but can be improved. I'd just go straight to DVA myself though.

I went to DA for a new motor. Ordered it in Nov of 02, paid part of it in early 03, still don't have it.

Don't have a date from him either.

ps. You might want to post this on www.exiges.com. There are many people over there with the Lotus 190 (dynoed), DVAPower and others.

Thanks for all the advice, I had an enlightening chat with DA the other day.
Anyhoo, looks like I'm about to become an Exige owner

If I were you I'd just buy the TT260 Exige from the owner of Exiges.com. Thats gonna be one hell of a car, I'm half tempted, but I can't get by with no boot and a car that gets bloody hot in the summer as it would be my only vehicle. Bargain if you ask me though.
