Just a quick question - would an Elise be a practical (relatively speaking) car to use for a daily commute that consists of prodominantly motorway driving ?

What sort of revs is an Elise 1 doing at 80mph ?

Cheers

Std gearing (not close ratio) is fine - just under 4K rpm @ 80mph, so easy relaxed cruising. Noisy on poor road surfaces such as concrete M25 and nasty 3/4 blind spots tho.

At 80 forget the CD player, you can't really hear it. It is comfortable - I just did a Cologne, Germany to Manchester run in mine in one hit and it was fine. It's no comfort alternative to a basic hatch, but it's survivable.
Get a dealer to take you down a motorway at 80 on a cemo to decide.
