I'm not even remotely considering it, but would it be possible to by a VX220T, then replace the front and rear cam shells with Lotus parts, thus getting a 200+ bhp Lotus built car which looks like an Elise?

No.

The brake booster on the VX for the ABS and assisted brakes won't fit under an Elise front clam.

That's the reason why the VX/Speedsrer has such a 'slab' front end. It needs to be high enough to accomodate the extra bits.

Loads of differences in the rollbar area too and of course is the rear subframe part of the VX shaped completely different from an Elise.

Perhaps someone *could* do an 'Elise alike' clam-set for the VX, but you will never be able to do a 'direct transplant'

Even between the S1 and S2 the differences are too big to make it feasible to swap clams.

Bye, Arno.
