Picked up my S1 from dealer on Friday - 2000/W Azure/Cream, 5500 miles - and i loves it.

Just a quickie though. I is eager to keep her in the immaculate condition she is already in. However, due to bad weather one has to clamber through the rather small door opening with the roof on and invariably scuffs shoes/boots on the LEATHER covering the door frame. Does anyone therefore know of any cover, preferably clear, u can fit to this. I suspect there may not be one in which case i may make my own - how is this leather cover fixed as i havnt bothered looking yet - too busy washing/driving/washing etc.
Maybe i just gotta persevere with technique of getting in.

I have seen the other threads about how poor the wiper is - have to agree strongly. I did however see a thread linked to another site which showed u how to get more tension in the springs to the wiper arm by shortening the clip type thing which they connect too (cut it and re-drill spring connecting holes). Has anyone tried this and does it work ??

Am already having huge fun in the car even though am driving it with due respect for weather and not wanting to get too overexited with new toy until have got feel for it better. I cannot wait until we get some decent weather as i havnt had the hood off yet and have yet to experience my car in the dry (test drive of a few in the summer wetted my appetite).

Have to agree with YES vote for sports exhaust. Backed it into garage last night with a bit of blip blip and it sounded lurvely. My m8 who has an S2 and came to pick my car up with me thought it sounded great and now desperately wants a new exhaust for his s2 - whats available ??

Any comments on the above greatfully received.

Try some Rainex on the screen. It does sometimes make it a little hazy but the water comes off a treat & means that for a short time ( a few weeks) after application a wiper isn't always necessary.
