OK - I know it is a long shot - anyone know if it is still possible to get MMC Brake pads? The disks on my '97 are barely worn, but the pads may soon need replacing.

Is it a complete brake pad & disk overhaul to conventional steel as I fear it might be?

It is still possible with a bit of phoning round; you could try Lakeside (www.lakesideengineering.com) in Woking or a chap called Bruce who tinkers as (www.med-reg.co.uk/about.htm or ask on the elisebbs), he's somewhere in Cheshire. There is also a chap called Fergus who I think has some affiliation with lotusecosse.com and is getting some new ones made in the near future.

I'd be tempted by a tidy pair of fronts at the right price....if the pad supply does dry up they'll make nice novelty clocks.

Phew, it's not as bad as I thought.
Car passed MOT on Wednesday, 1st time - no problem!
Apparently the pads have over 1/3 left on them. Hopefully by the time they do need replacing someone [Fergus?] might be manufacturing them again.

Love the Clocks idea ... surely that opens up a new thread... 'Secondary uses for obselete MMC disks'
How about MMC pigeon shooting?

iirc Simon at Brooke Kensington can supply a suitable pad - although I don't think it's specifically an MMC pad.
