Click the link to see a clip of my evil sounding S2.(choose the broadband one its only 1.45Mb)

It is standard with an ITG induction kit plus a prototype, made to measure, stainless steel exhaust.

I still can't believe it but it was dyno tested at 120bhp-at the wheels! (flywheel-145bhp).
I will test it again shortly to be sure that the dyno wasn't poorly calibrated.

145 bhp seems a little unlikely from just an airbox and exhaust! Sounds nice though.

LOL ...I would make sure they have your gear ratio programmed into the rolling road properly !

Sounds nice - pretty much like my car did with sports cat and Magnex exhaust - now have Piper 4-2-1 and flexi CRP on for some more pops and bangs

All the cars Ive seen dynoed with ITG and various exhausts make around 130-34bhp at the flywheel. However what is important is that you had a power run before any mods and then again after any mods to see the difference.

Also beware if the place with the rolling road is selling you the tuning mods - its very easy to produce healthy power gains when you know what you are doing just by tinkering with the settings. I always try to go somewhere independant.

My next mod' is the sports cat and maybe manifold, do these mod's make any difference to the interior noise?

However I wouldn't be surprised, when I dyno test it again, if the figures aren't far from the first test. Having previously fitted a Brooke Kensington sports exhaust, returning home from the Exhaust specialist,I noticed a remarkable improvement in the fuel economy and responsiveness with the new exhaust.
Big radius mandrel bends, an innovative silencer, nothing like normal wool packed ones, using vortex chambers to convert sound energy into heat energy and megaphone style tail tips could contribute to a non standard power increase.

I did the test with the standard Lotus airbox and then with the ITG but there was only 2-3bhp improvement, (it was a hot day)

But you are right I should fit the standard exhaust to see the real difference.

the manifold changes the noise slightly, the sports cat just gives a nice rasp over 4K revs - not any louder inside the car really. Both will give around another 3-4bh[ and 4 or 5ft/lb/ torque

My car did 137bhp 135ft/lb when it was in the above spec...then I haad a DVA big valve head, 663 cams and verniers fitted to give 163bhp/140ft/lb
