Am setting off from London to Honeybourne in Worcestershire not far from Evesham in the early hours of Saturday morning and wondered if anyone had any good route suggestions, ok not the whole thing necessarily, just some must see bends or race track type country lanes (to be driven down respecting the limits m'lud)!

Plus if anyone has any web resources for good route planners that i can surf til my hearts content, have exhausted all google had to offer!
All will be much appreciated!

I work abroad during the week so have lost touch with britains roads (lucky me) and do not want to do the usual hit the motorway and follow the signs......

IMHO, if you are going over to Worcester, the best and most simple route is to follow is via Oxford (up the M40 and take the Oxford exit) go round the ring road and head off towards Evesham, this way you can enjoy FISH HILL, worth all the effort and if the road is clear you can enjoy a really good double apex corner liken'd to that of those you dream about in the alps. Sure not so tight and the scary bit over the side isn't there, but if you are going in the dead of night then who cares. There is a roundabout at the bottom so that having enjoyed it one way, you can turn round and do a hill climb... Used to be a whole load better before the camera days but have a go and let me know how you fair. Grew up in Worcestershire, now down in SE. But if you want to some fun head out to the Herefordshire side of the Malvern Hills. Some good fun roads out there without some of the traffic that we might encounter closer to London.

Quite agree..."best" route is M40 to junction 8a to Oxford, A40 and A44 all the way to Evesham. Done this a few times and it rules.

Hiya,

Funnily enough I live at the top of Fish Hill, just a few miles from Honeybourne.

Agree with what the others have said about routes, however, this being the Cotswolds, every t*sser in a slow caravan and Metro will be out sightseeing . Fish hill is definitely worth doing, but if you want some good deviations off the A44 to miss the crowds, let me know..

I agree about Fish Hill. Better on the way up as it is 2 lanes up 1 lane down.

Forgot to mention, there should be one of my old routes still up on www.cotswoldlotus.org.

As an alternative to the A44 from Moreton-in-Marsh to Evesham, try the B4035 from just North of Moreton to Honeybourne.

In addition the B4027 (I think) from near M40 roundabout in Oxford to Kidlington is a great Oxford by-pass and goes through nice villages like Islip etc.

Guys, cheers for all the tips, link is great, might follow the route chevron for chevron, has been a busy day so must be brief, will post once I get back with any additional recommendations i might have after doing the route myself. Worried about the r/bout at the bottom of fish hill making me late as i keep going round it and back up and down again, oh well!
