Umm.. without wishing to appear picky, "There have been rumours for a long time now that Rover might be about to ditch the K Series in favour of another power plant for the Elise."

Surely it would be Lotus ditching the K Series, not Rover.

Just goes to show how stupid those people at Lotus are. It may be a British thing, them not listening to their customers, since if they did and changed their engine they would have such a demand that they would have to do some work!!

I've said it before but putting a bigger engine in the elise will compromise the marketing of any other models they add to the range ie M250 replacement, Esprit replacemet etc.

Exactly! It will be a different car in the same way an Exige is a different car to an elise.

'car' magazine suggests that Elise to get 190bhp Toyota 1.8l VVTi engine for the third generation Lizzie. 'car' seems to get its wires crossed implying this engine for all versions, guess they'll use it for US car....
