Oil usage - S2

Ok guys & gals what's the approximately oil useage on a standard S2?

Covering 2,000 miles in a mixture of fast m'way and A roads with other long periods of sitting still in traffic I seem to have gone from a nice full oil system to the refill mark ! Is this a usual amount of oil useage?

I've had a good look all through the engine bay and cannot see any evidence of oil leaks and there's no traces of oil on the undertray, so I'm assuming I've simply got one that uses a reasonable amount of oil

So refilled with Mobil 1 (15-50). I know this may be "too good" but I prefer to spend in a preventative fashion now.

You might not have noticed me at PF as I was somewhat overshadowed by Rob's customised Viper next to me, the red one with the wacky graphics. Still it meant there was always someone looking over my car - reflected glory perhaps

Hi CVP,

when I got my s2 I ran her in like a baby and she didn't use a drop of oil. Then when I had the fist service and they put synthetic in I took her on a long drive to the South of France and had to fill up with oil again when I got there. Since then I get about 1,500 to 2,000 miles from full to minimum, so I shouldn't worry. I have spoken to the dealer about this and they were of the opinion this was quite normal oil usage for a car being driven with a bit of verve...

What is 'normal' for one engine obviously isnn't normal for another.

In almost 2 years, and 10,000 miles, I have never had to add a drop of oil - stays on 'max'. It's been almost a year since the last oil change.
