I have recently purchased an elise and it apears to have Koni shocks all round. Adjustable at the front , not at the rear. Apparently they were fitted at christopher neil along with the stainless exhaust.
The problem i have is that when i go over small bumps i get a rattling sound coming from the rear of the car. Anybody else got the same shocks and get the same noise. I ve had 2 garages look at it but cant find a problem.

Thanks
Craig.

Not got an Elise but heard of the same problem at a Club Lotus Meet. They thought it was the shocks but it turned out to be the glass in the back window was moving. Another cause I heard about but not first hand was a bit of metal (rivet?) in the chasis itself, because of the aliminium frame this was transmitted and amplified.

Don't know if this helps but might be worth a look (esp window thing, fixed with a bit of rubber)

You could check the Brake pads - a loose or wrongly fitted brake pad tensioner spring could cause a rattle in that area.

Best way to eliminate this is to grab the brake pads and see if you can rattle them!

Sounds a little odd that you have adjustable dampers on the front but not on the rear.
