Can anybody tell me what the K&N 57i induction airfilter is like as an upgrade, used with a Janspeed exhaust ?
£57 for the K&N, is it worth buying ?

ideally you want a cold air intake such as the ITG or Hurricane...some people buy the K&N and make their own 'flowerpot' intake and ducting...looks a bit Heath Robinson but does the job

The K & N sounds great and probably gives a couple of bhp, the ITG/Hurricane probably give around 3-4bhp in the real world (I dont believe the claims of 8bhp froma filter alone !)

Just had a K&N installed on My S1 with a Janspeed. Sounds great when you give it a bit of stick.

I just had it plumbed in and that was it. No real notice in power but the sound is a huge improvement.

I cant think of a better upgrade for the money.

i've heard the 57i, but doesnt compare to the ptp kit. however this means extra money and mine seems to need cleaning/oiling alot more.

how often should you clean the itg kit?

I do mine every service...clean and re-oil every 9K miles minimum
