A chap whom I met at the cafe where I work today. He's got a great looking Elise and is looking to get it chipped I believe and so will (hopefully) be coming on here for some information from the rest of you guys.

NL02 *** welcome if you turn up on these hallowed pages and thanks for the offer of a go in your wee beastie - I may well take you up on it!

Is this Newcastle UK? Just I'm looking to meet up with Elise owners there to advise me on buying one.

It is indeed in the UK. Not sure if he's joined yet, although there are a few Loti in Newcastle. No advice needed really - do it! (I don't have one (I wish) but I took a Mk1 around Croft and it was an awesome car. Loved it to bits.

I plan to get one between now and Xmas, a big time fram I know, but I need time to save for the insurance . Also I hear they are cheaper in the winter and price is important as insurance is so high.

Basically I don't know anything about them as I come form a Mini background and want to learn as much as possible about them. Kinda what to look for when buying, what can go wrong, or need regular servicing.

Also all I really know about the tuning is what i have learnt from tuning minis. Maybe Piper 285 cam? This is what I have in my 1ltr mini.
