Boot release cable has broken!

Help My boot release cable has broken and I need to be out of here quick. My wallet is stuck in the boot too!

The car is a Mk1 Elise.

I've got the rear wheel off to try and find the probelm but I need some help.

I hope the keys are not in the boot.

Stick your hand inside the drivers side rear wheel arch liner and root around for the cable. Give it a tug and the boot should pop open.
