I've had my car home for 2 days. Yesterday evening I washed it, and noticed no problems. Today I didn't get to drive it, but this evening I went out and saw that there is a crack about an inch and a half long in the front nose panel. Looks like someone needs to learn how to park without bashing into other cars...

I've no idea who did it, but it is one of my neighbours as we have resident's parking and it's always the same few cars outside my house. No one left a note of course.

I am away next week and was planning to take the car to Sinclair's for a sports exhaust, so I will get them to fix it at the same time. I'm presuming that I will just have to purchase a new front nose/bumper panel? The crack is just off centre, below and to the right of the Lotus badge right on the front edge part... . you know what I mean! Anyone had a similar repair and know how much it will be?

Also - anyone know if Sinclair's sell hard tops?

thanks as always guys

Sally (very happy Elise owner - well, except for the injury!)

front nose or bumper panel? either they can fix it or it's a new front clamshell. no "bumper" on an elise. You got a pic of the damage?

b@stards... why can't people park?

last weekend swmbo and I watched a guy in one of those Rover mgzr(?)s (the biggest one) really crack our neighbours car with really bad fast parking.

As he didn't leave a note I felt compelled to tell, however my neighbours car is a pile of junk anyway and she just laughed, upon inspection it had done more to his car and hers had got off without anything noiticeable.

Principle of the thing is crappy though, good luckm, hope it can be reapaired cheaply!

It's not a big crack, so I'm hoping they can repair without too much expense. I've booked her into Sinclaire's. They're gonna fix it (and fit my Janspeed) whilst I'm away in San Francisco / Las Vegas next week. Awesome. If the car has to be off the road, then I don't wanna be in the country missing her

Should be good and ready for Pistonfest.

Unfortunately, if you continue to park on the street this will continue to happen. I live in central London, and I've seen many Elises with bashed noses and tails. There was one that parked around where I live for a few months, and each week the amount of "racer's tape" increased on the nose. The car is gone now - don't know if it was sold, the owner garaged it, or the owner moved. I didn't buy an Elise until I could arrange for a garage. The fact is that there are always going to be morons in 4x4s and even regular cars who will park by braile - the Elise will always lose. Trust me, get a garage.

Good thinking Lama. I guess it's time to clear my wine collection out of our 3-car garage.

clearly there are bastards everywhere -you could have just taken a pic of my car....

also going into sinclaires this week for some 'surgery' while i'm in mauritius. Had the itg and janspeed done there a few weeks back -highly recommended. porting/cams next i think.

DON'T WORRY

The crack looks worse than what it is,

Find a honest repairer and they should be able to sticky flex it back and paint the damaged area. If you have stone chips on the front clam, and i can assume you have, now is the perfect time to rid of them once and for all. And it shouldn't cost to much dosh either. If your up North i have a great contact.

So more money for

Inquiring minds want to more...... Need to get rid of ALL the stone chips in the front end. Based down south, but Yorkshire is home.
