Dealer Upgrades to Elise

I've been quoted £1100 for a performance upgrade which consists of an ITG induction kit (£450) and a performance exhaust (£650). The induction kit guarantees an extra 8bhp and the exhaust should generate an extra 5bhp. I have a S2 111s. Do these performance figures sound right as it will mean I will have close to 170bhp.

Also the price seems a bit steep particularly for the induction kit based on some quotes I have been given for the parts.

I'm not technically proficient so all comments welcome.

Those performance figures are about the best you could hope for and those prices are pretty steep (includes fitting and VAT I presume). The ITG costs about £350 and a Janspeed exhaust about the same.

I have ant ITG and very happy with it...but dont believe the claims !...if they 'guarantee' it then get a before and after dyno run and ask for your dosh back when you dont get 8bhp

Sinclaires is best place to go - ITG £350 + £350 for exhaust

I have just fitted the ITG carbon fibre induction kit to my 111S S2 and I doubt that the power increase is anywhere near 5%. The engine can certainly breathe much better, but in reality the power increase can only be around 2-3bhp.

However the sound improvement over the awful standard Lotus induction is simply amazing, with a fantastic, almost Vanquish-like howl at higher revs.

I can certainly recommend going for the ITG induction kit, although I fitted it myself and you would be able to do the same (about 2 hours) and save yourself over £150.

I haven't changed the standard exhaust yet, but will do so shortly. Does anyone know what the 111S Janspeed Supersport exhaust sounds like?

A guy I know just had his S2111S dynoed - ITG, Janspeed, Cat pipe, Piper 4-2-1 manifold 163bhp

youre lucky to get to 165bhp with just bolt-ons - manufacturers quote (PTP) 8bhp induction, 6bhp cat, 5 bhp exhaust - stick that on a std car that showw 125bhp on the dyno and get ......134bhp ..ive seen it on the rolling road...on my own car - dont believe the bull
