Anyone know the best place to go to get some stats on the car, interested in knowing how much power my S2 is packing since some minor airflow enhancements or is it not worth the time and trouble...and money?

Any ideas on prices and places in the London area would be much appreciated!

You could bring your car to PistonFest on the 28th/29th June, there will be a rolling road there.

Personally I don't think it's worth using a rolling road unless you are trying to tune performance by tweaking options in the ECU etc. The figures they produce are fairly meaningless particularly when airflow mods are involved because there is no air passing over the engine.

Who cares what BHP it is, so long as it drives well?

Its not really worth it unless you have a before and after - otherwise you dont know how much youve gained.

I got to C C Engineering in Reading - £28 for 3 power runs or 1/2 hour time

Ive got figures for S2s from the Emerald RR spreadsheet to give you an idea of what to expect on a RR measurement - all at flywheel (coast down losses calculated by dyno).

Std S2 - about 124bhp

S2 + sports exhaust 128bhp

S2 + sports exhaust and induction (cold air e.g. ITG/Hurrincane) 132-134bhp

S2 + sports exhaust, induction and PTP sports cat - 137bhp/134ft/lb (my old spec)

S2 + the above + DVA 155 kit = 163bhp/140ft/lb (my car)

Bonce - driving experience has been given a notable lift, so much soo that I was interested in putting some quantitative values to the qualitative experience

Bogie - cheers for sharing that - like you said without knowing what it was before there is little point in checking now - unless i am setting now as a benchmark for later comparisons!!!

Overall I was dubious as to how much the driving experience could be improved and having got the motor back from Sinclaires with the mods done and a renewed grin on my face I was curious!

Anyone want to buy a no longer required head unit - could listen to that new growl all day long

Do them yourself: buy the parts online (i.e. www.eliseparts.com).

Or if you're lazy, get a dealer or specialist to do the work for you.

for more serious mods then www.dvapower.com

the limit for the S2 at the moment on std ECU is around 160odd bhp - programmable ECU needed for 170+ andd throttle bodies etc and at present there isnt one on the market that is ready/MIL/OBDII compliant
