I'm off to Le Mans this year and have remembered that you need to put stuff over your lights to make them legal - what do I need and where can i get it?

Thanks

Apparently there is a switch inside the light that can sort it, but I don't think its very accessible. Apparently most people don't bother and have never had a problem.

Alternatively stick some gafer tape on the left side of the light to keep the cops off your back if you are worried.

Depends..

S1: you need to put tape on the headlights. Regular black electrical tape works fine. Cover the 'flare' that can be seen in the glass just below the center line.

S2: pop off the headlight covers (see owners manual for instructions) and pull additional shield inside projector unit upwards.

Effect in both cases is the same. The 'flare' that angles up and to the left that can be seen in the normal beam pattern is removed and a fully horizontal beam pattern is left.

Bye, Arno.

alunr... a late response here but:

I just got back from a trip to Europe in my S1 - I used these things called 'beam benders'. Basically they cost few quid, cover the same triangular section as the suggested electrical tape, BUT IMPORTANTLY - you don't lose any of the light - they just direct it back to the right hand side.

Oh - and an Elise [just] fits on French Motorail if you don't fancy a slog across France.
