Didn't take his card as I didn't want a test drive so can't remember. Also spoke a bit to the girl on the stand.

Before I look at any more of the photo's...Does that price tag really say say £40,805

Lotus "We can't afford to develop a new Esprit so we are just going to keep edging the price up on the Elise"
What the hell happened to an affordable and fun car, circa £25k?

Thats for a full spec Sport 190 - base 190 is around £33K, that one at Wilsons has EVERYTHING on it

A Sport 190 is £33K with LSS and 190VHPD in Sports Tourer trim spec...not bad considering an S2135R is £28K - basically £5K more for the more pokey engine.

That particular car is one built to order by Lotus for Wilsons Lotus in Chadwell Heath as a demo car - Im gonna have a drive in it soon

It has every possible extra on it and was specced by Wilsons to show off all the trick bits that are available like LSD, Racing Dynamics remote res dampers etc. Whether anyone will actually buy it when its finished its demo life (probably when the S3 Toyota engine car comes out next year) is another thing

I realy like what they've done to the gear shroud on the new Elise but replacing the

L O T U S

with the badge looks bloody awful. A change just for the sake of changing it methinks.

Agreed on the gear gaiter - looks better than the standard.

Do all S2s have those 'buttons' for want of a better word to unlock the doors from the inside? The S1 doesn't so you have to get out, unlock the door with the key and get back in again when you go to pick someone up. Only a minor inconvenience though.

This is the point someone tells me the glaringly obvious way to open the door from the inside........

No thats the central locking. You can open a locked door on the Elise just by using the interior door handle though, so its easier to lean across than get out

bet you a tenner its cos putting the little letters on is a right pain. I think its more expensiev than the badge....I know they were bitching about it when first making the S2 anyway.....
