Hi, I am looking to buy a 2nd set of wheels & tyres for my S2 111S. Has anyone any recomendations on wheel & tyre combos, they will only be used for trackdays and dry weekend drives so they need not be practical in the rain. Will I need to change suspension geometry.

The only ones I know of that will fit without special adaptors are the OZ rims supplied as part of the Lotus Sport Suspension package

you can get them separate here

www.brooke-kensington.co.uk/ppartl3.htm

£995 for wheels, £500 for tyres.

However there will be too much grip for the std suspension to cope with so youll need to upgrade that - Spax, Nitrons or official Lotus offering.

The official LSS kit is around £3.5K fitted and you get to keep your old wheels/tyres for road use. Its fitted std on the S2135R and Sport 190 and consists of

Oz wheels/Yokohama A048s (fronts are 6.5" wide with 195/50tyres)
new shocks/springs with adjustable ride height and I think damping
uprated adjustable anti roll bar
different mounting plates

Andy Walsh of www.1stlotus.com is developing a Nitron kit for the S2 at present which will work out cheaper than going the official route.

Others have tried running 195/50 Toyo Proxes on the fronts of the S2 std rims with mixed results - some like them, others complain of too much tyre wall flex, going off too quick etc

Sorry theres not much choice out there for the S2 at present

I'm in the same boat, looking to get some track day tyres on my Sport 160.
Concensus seems to be Yokahama A038R or A048R but some use Dunlop Formula Rs quite sucessfuly
