I am looking to purchase a sports exhaust!!!

I agree it does sound like a sewing machine!!!

Would like something that sounds a bit meaty!!

A nice exige sound would be nice!!

I know there must be loads of different options and am just looking for a bit of advice before a go out an buy it.

Also thinking of fitting it myself!! Difficult or Easy???

S1 or S2 Elise?

Fitting yourself - maybe 2 hours if you have easy access under the car - ramps etc. If not take it down Kwik-Fit or such like, watch them do it and pay them £50 ish and save getting your hands dirty

try www.eliseparts.com or www.race-speed.com for best prices on exhausts

most people go for the Janspeed, Gearys (eliseparts) one is a nice sound for an S1 though

I see you have an S2. I have an S2 111s and have ordered a Tubi. Arno has one so you might want to ask him. I fitted the CRP myself and it took frecking ages cos I did'nt have the right tools. If only I'd known you're ment to take off the left rear wheel to make it easier!!! could do it very quickly now I've done it once before.

Friend of mine has a Janspeed, sounds OK but really can't tell the difference between that and a sooped up honda civic/integra....flame suit on!

I am having the same problem. Probably going to go for the Janspeed (Race Speed have new model stainless steel ones for about £300 which are supposed to be good).

I have heard the Elise Parts one is very loud but can be a bit too intrusive on motorway trips.

There is no fecking way I am going to atempt to fit mine myself. I learnt my lesson long ago about enything mechanical / DIY (you should see the state of my laminate floor!). Hopefully having the Elise Parts gear linkage kit fitted on the weekend.

Yes Lotus do one - its made by CLF/Magnex and is just as good as the others, its a bit more expensive (try negotiating with your dealer) but Im very pleased with mine.
Its a more deeper sound than the Janspeed and less boomy on a steady throttle on motorway journeys
